Hotels & Travel-Related Business Get the Green Light on Resuming PR Efforts!

In March 2021, CM Communications, a leading travel & hospitality PR agency in the Northeast, conducted a travel media survey designed as a follow-up to findings gathered in a May 2020 survey. Both surveys included responses from over 400 editors, freelance journalists, bloggers, and Instagrammers from major markets nationwide. The main purpose of this research was to monitor media sentiment during the pandemic and gauge their willingness to travel for the purpose of writing stories and sharing their experiences with consumers. According to our survey, travel journalists and social influencers are more willing to travel on assignment today than they were 10 months ago, increasing from 25% to 56%. Let’s Go! Travel Media is Ready for Post-COVID-19 Travel

As a leading PR agency specializing in the travel & hospitality industry, CM Communications, conducted a survey that revealed that travel journalists and social influencers are ready to travel for the purpose of writing stories and sharing their experiences with consumers, as soon as stay-at-home orders end. The survey, which included responses from over 400 editors, freelance journalists, bloggers, and Instagrammers from major markets nationwide, shows that 25% are willing to travel immediately and 36% will be ready to visit hotels and resorts within 1-2 months of when restrictions are lifted. The willingness of the travel media to be pioneers and lead the way for consumers in this post-COVID-19 travel era should be front-of-mind for hotels and travel-related businesses as they plan their re-opening marketing strategies.  When money is tight, there is no more cost-effective tool than earned media in heightening visibility, raising consumer confidence, and building brands.
